Façade
Facades
Everyone has them, humanity's endless folly
Saying one thing, but meaning something else
Forked tongues, truth somewhere between
Promising much, but delivering very little
Speaking of doing, but intending nothing
Humans are two-faced, some even multi-faced
Acting one way with others, another when alone
Afraid that others might see the real you
The you that remains locked inside, reserved
Endless sorrows, struggles, anger, hatred
Hidden behind that pearly white smile
But the eyes don’t lie, they whisper truths
Breaking facades, unwrapping deceptions
Revealing the you locked away inside
For a façade is only a façade until it isn’t
