Sleepless

To mine eyes sleep will not come

When eyes and mind drift

Thoughts of thee take control

Thy breath-taking beauty

Weakens knees, so I fall at thy feet

Become a different man, almost giddy

Voice does injustice to these feelings

Only the pen can give them credit

These feelings of love, Love? Me?

I never would have thought!

How did I fall in love?

I’m supposed to wait!

Only you could make me this way

I now know what love is like

Love is an unending fountain of joy

Love is a precious jewel, like you

Now that I have found it

I never wish to lose it

Man truly is nothing without love

You fill my heart and control my thoughts

I should sleep, but you might be a dream

This is a dream I never want to end

You are my sunrise, my sunset

I cherish every second with you

I wish you would never leave my side

For when you aren’t there

Mine heart aches for thy soothing voice

For the light of thy smile

The brightness of thy laughter

Without you, I couldn’t survive
